NEW CHAMBERS IN USE
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, this day.
The work of converting part of tlie Whakatane wharf sheds into cool chambers for the storage of butter _ a waitino- shipment from the Eangitaiki Pla Dairy Company was. completed on Wednesday, and the first consignment; 460 boxes of butter, was stored yesterday. The butter room is completely insulated, and will be kept at the temperature of 3Sdeg. by means of a refrigerating plant, tlio maclnnery for this "purpose being entirely automatic, with electric thermostatic control. Space is provided for the storage of 8000 boxes of butter. An insulated room is also provided for the storage of cheese awaiting shipment. _ ' , . The first consignment of butter via this route will leave Whakatane. to-day.
