NEED FOR EMPLOYMENT.
SOCIAL WORKERS MEET,
A decision to urge upon the Government the need for further employment for the workless in Auckland was made at the quarterly meeting of the Auckland Social Workers' Association at which all local social organisations. were represented. The Rev. C. G. Scrimegour presided. The principle of women police was ■unanimously approved, and the Governments' proposal to establish a rest home was endorsed. A discussion on bachelor flats was referred to the association's executive, as it was impossible to reach any unanimity on the point.
