LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. HUNTLY WANTS A GAME. SOUTH AUCKLAND INVITATION. The weekly meeting of the Auckland Rugby League was held last evening, Mr. George Rhodes presiding. Duane, of the Marist Club, was cautioned for his "fireworks" on the field on Saturday. A request from Huntly Club to send a senior or junior team to play a match there 011 Saturday was left in the hands of the delegate to arrange if possible. Mr. S. J. Ball, the Newton player, for whose benefit a specially attractive concert has been arranged to take place in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Monday evening, wrote (with left hand) a letter advising of the improvement in his condition since receiving treatment. at the Helensville springs, where he will require to remain for sonic time yet. In conncction with a proposal to the League to share a ground at Mount Albert, the Auckland Cricket Association intimated that it could not accept the terms of payment laid down by the Mount Albert Council. The New Zealand Council thanked the League for the terms granted for the use of Carlaw Park in connection with the coming visit of the South Sydney team. It was reported that North Auckland would be playing South Auckland as arranged 011 October 5. Permission to play junior representatives of the two Leagues as a curtain-raiser was referred to the junior management committee with a favourable recommendation.
