PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB. 29TH ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-ninth annual meeting of the Ponsonby Cruising Club was held last evening in the clubhouse, St. Mary's Bay, the president (Mr. C. .T. Collings) presiding over a good attendance. The annual report, submitted by the hon. secretary (Mr. R. Francis), stated that the past season had been a good one, the club's races were well contested and some very close finishes were witnessed, reflecting credit on the handicappers. The annual regatta was favoured with fine weather and was very successful. In addition to the usual programme of sailing and motor boat events various side shows were held off the jetty. The race for the Lipton Pup created great interest, and the Auarana Club was acrnin the lucky nominee of the winner. Mr. E. ,T. Kelly placed his motor boat, Linda, at the of the cluh on several occasions, which was trreatiy appreciated. e The clubhouse was in good order, extra lockers being added to meet the -demand for snace. R: Arthur snored total receipts to have been ■ £667 .5/0, including subscriptions. £35, entry fees £37, donations £82 and' locker rent' £35. ■' The expenditure left-a credit balance of £35 18/10. The TTewson ' Memorial Fund stood at £104 I*7/3, and, the building fund at *£290 12/8. The assets totalled £749 12/6, with no liabilities. Moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman said they disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs, for which the officers and committee were to be commended. The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows: —Patron. Mr. Frnser-Smith; vice-natrons, Messrs. C. J. Collings and E. J. Kelly; president. Mr. A. Thompson; vice-presidents, as last year; commodore. Mr. ifl. A. Carson; vice-com-modore, Mr. L. Weston ; rear-commodore, Mr. H. R. Arthur; hon. secretary, Mr.' R. Francis; assistant secretary. Mr. W. R. Cunningham; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. R. Arthur f hon. auditor, Mr. A. Craig; hon. solicitor, Mr. L. Simpson; clubhouse .captain, Mr. Sam Tilly; locker steward, Mr. Geo. Robertson; delegates to Auckland Y. and M.B. Association, Messrs. H. Kirkland and-Ti Quinn; committee, Messrs. J. Edwards, H. Kirkham, \J. .Toynt, T. Quinn, S: Tilly, G. Mackay, W. Thomas. R. Reid, G. Robertson, M. Lawson, A. Bone. W. Bush, T. Fookes, L. Poland and J. Wilcox, The annual subscription was fixed at ?,/., The amount to be paid by each boat was referred to the new committee. ' Votes of thanks were accorded to the hon. secretary (Mr. R. Francis), hon. treasurer. (Mr. H, R. Arthur) and the retiring officers and committee. Special mention was made of the good work of Mr. J. McWhirter (rear commodore), also Mr. k. Murphy <locker steward), did not seek re-election. A vote of thanks to the Press concluded tlie meeting.
