TAUPO THERMAL BATH.
CONSTRUCTION PROMISED. STATEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The promise that the Government would make a vote next year to provide a thermal bath in Taupo township, from the waters of what is known as the Armed Constbulary Bath, some distance out of the township, was made by Sir Joseph Ward to-day to a deputation from the Taupo Road Board and Domain Board. The Government had laid down a programme for improving Taupo, and it was being carried out, the Prime Minister said. He undertook to have Taupo put on the list for tourists' itineraries. The reason it had not been included in the railway guide previously was that Taupo was not served by rail. He could not promise to spend money in the district thi year, but it would be done next year.
