Mr. R. J. Terry, of Auckland, willleave to-morrow for a holiday of-several weeks in Sydney. Sir George Fowlds returned to Auckland from Palmerston North by the express this morning. Mr, J. S. Duke, Mr. W. A. Simpson (Wellington), Mr. R, Dalrymple Hay (Sydney) are at Hotel Car gen. Miss F, Macdonald has retired on superannuation after being a member of the Auckland Girls' Grammar School staff for 22 years. Dr. T. G. Gray, Director-General of Mental Hospitals, was a passenger to Auckland by the Limited this morning. He is at the Grand Hotel. Among those at the Commercial Hotel are Mr. Bentley (Whangarci), Mr. Nicholl (Wellington), Mr. Kellam (Sydney), Mr. Bierman (San Francisco, California). Arrivals at the Central Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. L. Phillips (London), Mr. E. Griffiths, Mr. J. Scanlon (New Plymouth), Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Vergette (Napier), Mr. and Mrs. E. Reclmcr (Melbourne). Major-General R. Young, Officer Commanding, New Zealand Forces, arrived by the Limited this morning from the South. He was accompanied by Colonel Jr E. Duigan, chief of staff of the Northern Command. .Mr. W. Gregory, Mr. J. Wallens, Mr. S. A. Longuet (Wellington)? Mr. R. Greenslade and son (Dunedin), Mr. and Mrs. C. Strang (New Plymouth), Mr. and Mrs. N. Lethbridge (Te Awanmtu) are at the Grand Hotel. Mr, A. Gray, who was in San Francisco for some months engaged iirlitigation over a large legacy, .returned to New Zealand by the Maunganui on Monday.
