TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.
A QUIET PERIOD. BANKS STILL SLOW. Quite moderate business was recorded yesterday afternoon, and only two reported sales, were recorded at the first call this morning. The comparative weakness of banks still continues, and at this morning's call buyers put forward reduced offers in the case of Australian of Commerce, Commercial of Australia, New South Wales, and Union. English and Scottish buyers dropped out while holders of National of New Zealand lowered their reserves to £6 16/6. Wilsons Cement shows an easing tendency, and there are sellers at £2 3/6. The* Noon Call. The morning's business brought one additional sale at the noon call, in which the weakness of the bank section was reflected in a sale of Bank of New South Wales at £51 7/6, a drop of 7/6 since Saturday. .... Breweries scrip holds its high values with buyers at £4 9/6 for the shares and £1 10/ for the debentures. Interest Rates.
