FIRE AT PARNELL.
HOUSE BADLY BURNED. OUTBREAK IN CITY. f . A fire broke out about 4.30 yesterday fefternoon in a four-roomed house at 10, Gibraltar Crescent, badly damaged two rooms, while the others were affected by smoke and water. When the City brigade arrived the flames had a strong hold, but good work by the brigade soon had the fire under control. The dwelling was owned by Mr. P. J. J. Barry, of 1, Ngahere Terrace, Parnell, and had been Imoccupied since Saturday. A house at 08, Vincent Street, owned and occupied by Mr. William Hackett, was damaged by fire last evening about 10 o'clock. The fire started in a cupboard at the back, and one Toom, the passage and the rear verandah were gutted. The dwelling was unoccupied at the time.
