ROWING AT WHANGAREI.
CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. • (By Telegrapli.— Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. At the annual meeting of the Whangarei Rowing Club last evening reference was made to the departure from the district of N. Webber, selected in the Olympic Eight. Although the club has every facility for four-oar crews the results of the regatta racing last year were decidedly disappointing. Arrangements are in hand with the Hockey Association for running a queen carnival to reduce the club's overdraft. The officers for the ensuing year are:—Patron, Mr. A. .T. Murdoch; president, Mr. A. D. .Jack; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. G. liosking and T. H. Steadman; club captain, Mr. L. Hall; vicecaptain, Mr. j. Webber; secretary. Mr. Spence; coach, Mr. C. Dent; auditor] Mr. A. D. Jack; general committee, Messrs. Hughes, McKenzie, Dent, Archer, Hannam, Fraser-Hurst and Burfoot.
