MELBOURNE BLAZE.
OCCUPANTS' NARROW ESCAPE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. A leather tannery and a two-storey dwelling owned by Mr. J. Lawrence, was destroyed by fire. The occupants of five wooden houses nearby fled into the street in their night attire, but the houses were saved. The damage is estimated at £10,000.
