MADE IN BRITAIN.

IMPORTANT SUCCESS

Modern Wireless System For

Poland.

LARGEST ORDER FOR YEARS

(British Official Wireless.)

(Received 12 noon.)

RUGBY, September 23,

An important success for British industry has been secured by Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Company, Limited, who have been successful in obtaining one of the largest orders given of recent years in connection with broadcasting services.

This order is for a large extension of the Polish broadcasting organisation, which, following the British example, is to be remodelled so as to provide alternative programmes for the greater part of the country.

The new equipment will comprise a 120-kilowatt aerial, a broadcasting transmitter with full modulation, two hish power regional stations with a I*3kifowatt aerial, and three local relay stations.

The new installations will be of the most modern and up-to-date type, both as regards technique and design. The 120-kilowatt station will be situated near Warsaw and will be used in addition to the 12-kilowatt Marconi station, at present there.

The two stations will be employed simultaneously for the transmission of alternative programmes. The two new IG-kilowatt stations will be situated at Lemberg and Vilna to provide programmes for the areas outside the range of the lower powered station at Warsaw. Of the three local relay stations one will be situated at Lodz.

When the work is completed it is confidently anticipated that Poland will possess one of the most modern and efficient broadcasting services in the world.
