SPRING FAIR AT DEVONPORT.

A spring fair in connection with the Dcvonport Methodist Church was held in the Sunday School on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. J. F. Martin introduced Mrs. J. W. Court, who declared the function open. The competitions for flowers were judged by Mr. Clist and Mr. Ford. Mr. Buchanan judged the cookery. The following were the results: Flowers: Bowl of Iceland poppies, Miss Fehsenfeld, 1; bowl of mixed flowers, Miss Allen, 1; vase of flowers, Miss Fehsenfeld, 1; bunch of flowers, Miss Bray, 1; narcissi (six varieties), Mrs. J. W. Court, 1; anemones (six varieties), Mrs. Simpson, 1; ranunculi, Mr. T. Worthington, 1. Sewing: Best articlo made costing less than sixpence, for children over ten years, Muriel Sarson, 1; Nancy Power, 2; best article made costing less than sixpence, for children under ten years, Barbara Gurr, 1; D. Fehsenfeld/ 2. Cooking: Best plate of gems, Mrs. J. Goldsworthy, 1; best plate of scones, Mrs. Entwisle, 1; best nut loaf, Mrs. W. L. Eoberts, 1; plain sponge, Mrs. Power, 1; decorated sponge, Miss Allen, 1; shortbread, Mrs. J. F. Martin, 1; plate of pastry, Mrs. Power, 1; sausage rolls, Mrs. Power, 1. The following were in charge of the various stalls: Flowers, Miss Fehsenfeld and Mrs. Charlton; produce, Mrs. Goldsworthy and Mr. Johns, cakes, Mrs. Crooks, Mrs. . Eoberts and Mrs. Kgan; sewing, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Johns, Mrs. Fehsenfeld; sweets, Mrs. Power, Mrs. Dronsfield and Miss Dronsfield; refreshments, Miss Perry and Miss Dadson; side shows, Mr. Dadson and Mr. Reginald John; dips, Miss Taylor and Mr. Johns, jun.; afternoon tea, Mrs. McClusky, Mrs. Simpson, Mrs Rowel aiid Misses Marie and Winnie McClusky.
