BIRTHDAY PARTY.
An enjoyable party was held in Takapuna last Saturday evening to celebrate the coming of age of Miss Marjorie Tremain, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Tremain. The Gas Company's social hall was beautifully decorated with spring flowers and gay streamers. Mrs. Eeston, Miss M. Jones, Miss Jean Archibald and Messrs. Marks and Carter contributed musical items. Miss Tremain was the recipient of a beautiful brass bowl, presented by the conductor of the Thespian Orchestra (of which Miss Tremain is the pianist). The orchestra provided delightful dance music during the evening. Mrs. Tremain received her ouests gow°hed in ciel blue crepe de chine and georgette. Miss Tremain wore pastel green crepe de chine, with primrose and silver spray. Among the gncsts were: Mrs. G. Winstonc, beige marocam; Mrs. P. Meek, navy bengaline silk; Mrs. W. Marks, primrose crepe de chine; Mrs. Strangwav, saxe blue velvet and o-eorgette; Mrs.*E. MacManus, silver lace and georgette; Mrs. E. Tremain, apple crreen crepe de chine; Mrs. Petty, navy georgette; Mrs. England, black crepe de chine; Mrs. Edmonds, gold georgette over <*old lace; Mrs. Duckworth, lavender crepe°de chine; Miss E.
