TOWN AND COUNTRY. WEEK-END KESUI/TS. AUCKLAND CLUB. At Middlemore on Saturday the senior find junior championships of the Auckland Club were commenced. The two qualifying rounds were played in the senior championships and one in the junior. H. Plumley and R. Kainger tied for first place in the seniors w2th a score of 157. They subsequently played-off for the John Burns' Memorial Chip, and had a great tussle. After nine holes they were all square. Coming back to the third they again played the same number of strokes, and then decided to play the seventeenth and eighteenth holes. Rainger was one stroke up at the seventeenth, but at the eighteenth Plumley found the green with his second, a beautiful wood, while Rainger got in the sand bunker to the right of the green. Plumley just missed a three, and Rainger had an easy putt for five, but missed giving Plumley the advantage by a stroke. The best card of the morning's play was a 75 returned by Rainger, but in the afternoon P. Macky returned a 74. A. Bainger won the 3(5 hole net medal trophy with 157—5—149.

The three best cards in the juniors were returned by F. J. Dawsou, W. Wilson and V. Masters, all 90. The two next best were .T. Mackey and Whitcombe 91 each. The second qualifying round of the junior championship wil be played next Saturday.

The final of the fnur-bnll competition played during the week-end, resulted in a win for W. B. Colbcck and A. E. M. Rhind, who defeated B. S. Finn and J. Hellaby, 5 and 4.

AKARANA LADIES' CLUB. Players to represent the Akarana Ladies' Club against the Waitemata Ladies' Club at Akarana to-morrow are as follow:—Miss Darrach, Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. Gilmore, Mrs. Preston, Miss T. Cock, Mrs. Rowntree. Miss Miller, Miss Young, Miss M. Peet, Miss Smith, Mrs. Cock, Mrs. Sutton. WAITEMATA CLUB. The Waitemata Club played a flag match on Saturday, O'Connor the first man out, left the Hag at the 17th green, but it was advanced by McGregor, Muir, Porter and Robinson to the 19th green. In the final of the senior championship of 36 holes O'Connor beat Porter, 5 and 4. At the 18th hole Porter was leading 1 up, but O'Connor played fine golf in the second stage. In the final of the junior championship Duder beat Downer, 2 up. The game was closely contested throughout, the pair never being separated by more than three holes. GLENDOWIE LADIES' CLUB. The following ladies will represent Glendowie in an interclub match with Papakura on Wednesday at Glendowie: Mrs. Hutchison, Mrs. Stanley, Miss Brookfield, Miss Hill, Mrs. Hintz, Miss •R. In the final of the Maungakiekie Club's senior championship- at. Titirangi on Saturday, H. D. Brinsden beat'T. A. Goulding at the thirty-eighth hole after an even struggle. Brinsden started- off In promising style by winning the first hole, and was three up at the seventh. ! Goulding Tallied, however, and squared the match at the eighteenth. Goulding took jthe lead in the afternoon round", and showed the way until the twenty-fifth. Brin'sden squared the match before the turn for home, but Goulding again got ~a lead of "one up, which he held until the thirty-second, which went to Brinsden. Brinsden also took-the next, and held the advantage to be dormy one. Goulding, however, won the thirty-sixth with a four, squaring the match. The. thirty-seventh was halved, hut Brinsden won the next and the ."match, Goulding getting into the sand bunker.

PUPUKE LADIES' CLUB. The draw for the second round of the eclectic match for Walker and Hall's trophy, to be played by the Pupuke Ladies' Club is as follows:—Mrs. G. Goldwater v. Miss B.
