AUCKLAND'S CHOICE.
TEAM TO DEFEND TROPHY. The sole selector for the A.F.A., Mr. Phil Neesham, has chosen the rep. team to meet Wellington on Blandford Park next Saturday in a challenge gamp for the F.A. trophy, the Soccer provincial premiership of New- Zealand. The team shows one change from former occasion?, J. Morrison, of Ponsonby being played at right half in place of Tinkler, of Trains, who has recently sustained several injuries. The team -will be as follows: —Batty (Trams), Gerrard (Shore), Reid (Bon Accord), Morrison (Ponsonby), Christie (Trams), Jones (Shore), Innes (Ponsonby), Dunsmore (Bon Accord), Spencer (Trains), Hislop and Kay (Thistle).

English Cup Replay.—Rangers 4, beat Sunuur 0. PALMERSTOX NORTH. A strong Ilawke's Bay team was beaten by Manawatu by throe goals to nil. With the wind in the first spell, Bay were early on the attack, but Tarrant was magniflcent in goal. Manawutu then settled down, and jtistbefore the interval nice passing between McSheffeny and Baigent saw the latter score. Soon after the resumption, Goodiill headed in the second goal. A Bay breakaway looked dangerous, but Tarrant saved well. Manawatu resumed the offensive, and Young, from the sideline, sent a beautiful shot Into the corner of the .goal. The strong wind then dropped somewhat, and even play ensued until the end.
ONE GOAL MARGIN. OTAGO BEATS CANTERBURY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CIIRISTCHURCII, Saturday. The Canterbury and Otago Association football representatives played the last match of the season to-dny. In the first spoil Canterbury had the wind and sun behind them, .but Otago had most of the play, scoring the only goal of the spell, a fast rising shot by Mitchell, which gave Sullivan no chance. In the second spell Otago was unlucky to be penalised for handling by Morris. Trottor took the kick and shot a safe goal into the corner of tbe not, making the scores 1 all All Otngo raid saw the home men penalised close in, but Sullivan saved the shot at point-blank range. The last goal of tho match was a close-in shot by Mcllugn, which Sullivan stopped, but which he failed to gather in. The final score was:—Otago, 2; Canterbury. 1.
