NEW SYNAGOGUE.
OPENED IN WELLINGTON. CHIEF JUSTICE UNVEILS TABLET. . (By Telegrsi ph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. The new synagogue of the Jewish congregation was consecrated to-day in beautiful weather. There was a large attendance for the ceremony, which was nerformed by Rabbi H. Van Staveren (Wellington), Rabbi S. A. Go'.dstein ~nd), the Rev. C. Pitowsky (Wel'ington) and the Rev. A. Astor (Dunedin). Mr. P. Myers, president of the Wellington Hebrew congregation, declared the new synagogue open, and the- Chief Justice, the Hon. M. Myers, unveiled a tablet in the vestibule commemorating the foundation of the synagogue and ■ ccording the names of ministers and Honorary officers.
