INDOOR BOWLING.
FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' GAMES. RINKS AND PAIRS TOURNEYS. The Auckland Friendly Societies' open full rinks tourney advanced another stage when the section finalists mot to play off on the two-life system in the Methodist Hall, Great North Road, Grey Lynii. A very high standard of play was maintained, especially by the two teams who now have to play off in the final. Play was on the two-life system. Thero were several outstanding features. One was the large number of Birkenhead teams which qualified (S). two of which are still left in with one life. Another was the play of Mount Albert (.1, Bridge and Geo. Clark, skip), whose play for four founds was well nigh unbeatable. History repeats itself; in the fifth round Clark got the bye and seemingly lost the touch, going down to Birkenhead (F. A. Anderson and X. hwauson, skip) in round 6/ This should not detract from the performance of Swanson, who is a noted last head finisher, as witness his record in this tourney. Iα round 3, 3 were required to win ; he got them. In round 4, 5 in two heads; he got 2 and 3. In round 5, 1 was required, and got. And in round 0 3 wanted to win and he got them also. By virtue of defeating the two-lifer, Swanson, who lias the hyo, is now in the final, and plays off the winner of Clark and Hnrkin. The results are :—
