A QUIET WEEK-END. ONE SALE AT MORNING CALL. Fair business was recorded on 'Change yesterday afternoon, but this morning produced a very quiet call. Many of the usual lines were not quoted, and only one sale had been recorded when the call terminated. _ The latest business discloses no alteration in values except that the weakness of the banking section is confirmed in a sale of New South Wales at 7/6 less than the previous transaction. Farmers' Auctioneering are still in request, and buyers have advanced their offers to £4 5/ the ordinary £5 shares. There were no buyers for New Zealand Breweries at the morning call, though holders are as firm as before. After .being neglected during the week buyers for Electrolytic Zinc have again come forward offering the reduced prices of £1 16/6 and £1 16/9 respectively for the ordinary and the pref. shares. Monday a Holiday. Monday, Dominion Day, will be observed as a holiday by the local Exchange. Interest Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as follows for the latest sales: — PEE CENT PER ANNUM. £ s. d.
