"EVOLUTION OF THE CAR."

INTERESTING LANTERN LECTURE. "The Evolution of the Motor Car" was the subject of an interesting lantern lecture by Mr. G. Laing, delivered at the rooms of the Engineers' Union, Trades Hall, last evening. The growth of the motor car was attractively illustrated, and elides were shown of the first efforts of manufacturers in producing steam-driven vehicles early in the nineteenth century. Another series of slides demonstrated the advance during the past thirty years of the internal combustion engine.
