ADDINGTON JOTTINGS.

TALENT STRIKING FORM. ASHLEY DILLON'S MANNERS ... IMPROVE. i - (Bjr Telegraph.—-Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The pacer Kautoma has left J. Caddy's stable, and will in future be trained by L. Frost at New Brighton* Kautoma raced well 'at the August meeting at Addington, without winning. The pacer Blue Jean, in J. Caddy's static, showed indifferent form for some time in her work, but she is now doing much better during.the last month: She has made considerable improvement. The filly by Brent Locanda, from that good mare Edith A, was lame some little time ago, and did not look as though she would stand up to a preparation. She has made a good recovery, however, and is pacing along in good style. She is a, quality-looking pacer, and it is to be hoped she will train on satisfactorily. She is in H. Frost's stable. J. N. Clarke is working a three-year-old. filly by Guy Parrish from Red Eritfpress. At first she was tried at the pafiing gait, but a month ago her trainer worked her at the trotting gait, and she has not shown any inclination to pace since. She is now doing capitally, and is improving fast with each work-out. Talent is getting into'his best form. Yesterday morning he worked a useful mile with the trotter Tamerlane, who also got through his work in good style, going without any mistake.

It is stated that.,,the pacing mare Queen's Own will this: season be mated with the stallion Brigand, who is likely to do a good stud season. The Lee Norris—Maori Princess trotter continues to please his trainer by the manner in which he gets through his work. Ho should be useful before the end of the season in some of the slow class events.

J. Lorgelly is going along steadily with the pacer Ashley Dillon, who has a lot of speed, but does not always control it properly. Ashley Dillon was troublesome at the post some time ago, but he has improved considerably in this respect. /' ' '

Torchlight, like most of Matchlight's progeny, is a good stayer. He is doing useful work under J. D. Smith's charge at New Brighton. ■

The trotter' Spencer, by Homeleigh Dick from Olive L., is now being sent along solidly in his training work. He is a good-actioned trotter, and looks as though he will stay well.

ADIOO GUY (2.0f)

AMERICAN PACER FOR SOUTHLAND.

On the steamer Port Victor which arrived at Auckland this week was the American-bred stallion Adioo Guy,, who was purchased some time back by Mr. G, L. Youngson, of Southland, and he will take up stud duties at Mr. W. R. Jones' Riverside Stud. Adioo Guy was a great racehorse in America, and won numerous races, winding up with a record of 2.0;?. He is by Guy Dillon —Adioo, and being bred in the purple should get plenty of opportunities to make a name for himself in the Dominion.
