TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

BUSINESS CONTINUES FAIR. MARKET'S HEALTHY TONE. After a quiet morning a fair volume of business was put through by local brokers after the "Star" went to press yesterday, and additional sales were recorded at the first call to-day. Values generally have been well maintained, and a healthy tone continues. New Zealand Breweries . scrip still engages a good deal of attention, and a new high level for debentures was reached with a sale at £1 10/9. The slight recovery in Ohinemuri was reflected in a sale at 9/6, and another this morning at 10/. Bank of New Zealands are again firmer, with buyers at £3 2/9, and sellers £3 3/6. Huddart-Parkers were quoted ex dividend. The Noon Call. | Two fresh sales of Mount Lyell at £2 5/ at the noon call, following one last night, seem to indicate renewed interest in that scrip. The price is 7d below the peak figure of last week, but is 2/ up on the values ruling six weeks back. The upward march of Breweries seems to have been halted, as there are no sellers at £4 10/9, whereas the scrip was selling freely in various Dominion centres on Tuesday and Wednesday at £4 11/ and up to £4 11/3. The coal section is still very active, and fresh sales of Pukemiro at £3 16/6, one of Westport at £1 14/3, and a fresh inquiry for Waipas, are all indications of the present strength of coals.

I nterest Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as follows for the latest sales:— PER CENT PER ANNUM. £ s. d.'
