GAMBLING AND RATIONALISM.

It is quite good of Mr. Norman Burton tfc* concern himself over the "queer tangle" I haviv through lack of knowledge or logic landed myself in. I appreciate and sense to the fulL the kindly solicitude that prompts the desire to explain and help me out of the dilemma. Yet such is my ignorance or obstinacy that I am of the settled conviction the world's inhabitants are irrational, and instead of there being no room for rationalism that there is much room and much necessity for it. My considered opinion is'the opposite to his; he. says "but what foundation or authority can reason have in a mad world?" I say if the great bulk of the human race were not mad there would not be the urgent need of reason to convert it to sanity. C. E. MAJOR.
