NURSES' REFRESHER.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT COURSE

' LECTURES IN AUCKLAND. Commencing on Monday forenoon next and continuing throughout the week, a refresher course for trained nurses is to be held in Auckland under the auspices of the Department of Health. All nurses are invited to ail end the lectures without charge. According to the syllabus notified by Dr. T. J. Hughes, medical officer of health, the course will commence with a visit to the Auckland Hospital. On Monday afternoon at the Nurses' Home there will .be a discussion on "The Hospital Ward Unit," while in the evening Dr. Maguire will lecture on "The Hospital as it Concerns the Community." Other visits will be made to the hospital laundry, to St. Helens Hospital, and to the Karitane Hospital, while at the Technical College on Friday afternoon there will be a demonstration on diets. The lecturers in the course will be Drs. Paget, Tracy Inglis, Watson, Hughes and Ada Paterson. They will deal with a variety of subjects covering a wide range of duties such as nurses are called upon to perform.
