TIRAU CLTJB. . • MATAMATA, Wednesday. At the annual meeting of the Tirau Tennis Club the.prizes won during the previous season were presented as follow: — Men's championship, J. Hawes; ladles' championship, Mrs. A. Bonney; men's doubles, Hawes and A. Bragg; ladies' doubles, Mrs. Bonney and Miss Stewart; combined doubles, Selby and Mrs. Bonney. Officers were elected as follow: —Patron, Mr. W. Hetherington; president, Mr. J. Keane; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Rose, E. W. Jordan, S. J. Bear, N. Horscroft; committee, Mrs. Bonney, Misses Cowan, Clarke, Harrison, and Messrs. Bragg, Hawes, Neill, Gray, Selby and Brabyn; secretary and treasurer,' Mr! G. Wilson ; -auditor, Mr. E. W. Jordan; selectors, Mrs. Bonney and Mr. Selby; club captain, Mr. A. Bragg; vice-captain, Mrs. W. Craig; delegates to Waikato East Association, Messrs. Wilson and Bragg. •

NGATEA CLUB.

NGATEA, Wednesday. At the annual meeting of the Ngatea Tennis Club, it was decided to protest to the Hauraki Plains Association at tlie nonpresentation of the trophies won at the last tournament, and to ask for authority to obtain possession of the Laidlaw Cup. Opposition was expressed to the zone system of playing the interclub competitions, and the delegate to the association was instructed to advocate an improvement. It was decided to open the season on November 2. The election of officers resulted :—Patron, Mr. S. Coppins, sen.; president, Mr. H. B. Sparrow; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. B. Paul and H. Dent; secretary, Mr. A. E. Ludlowtreasurer, Mr. R. C. Abel; delegate to the Hauraki Plains Association, Mr. S. Coppins; auditor, Mr. C. S. Foster; hon. solicitor, Mr. E. L. Walton; committee, Messrs. R. C. Abel, G. Clark, S. Coppins, E. Coppins, Mrs. Olsen and Misses A. Paul, E. Wheeler, I. Sparrow and S.•Manktelow.
