BRIGADIER J. WILLIAMS.

FORMERLY STATIONED HERE.
'Tor the past twenty-five years I have been stationed in Australia," said Brigadier J. Williams, of the Salvation Army, who arrived in Auckland to-day by the Marama, accompanied by Mrs. Williams.
For thirty-five years the brigadier was stationed in Auckland city, and later he was in charge of the Salvation Army work in the Newton district, then in charge pf tho Salvation Army Howe at Epsom.
The brigadier eaid that the work of the Salvation Army was rapidly spreading throughout Australia, and that in the cities a feature was being made of the humanitarian side of the operations. In Sydney the organisation had homes for boys and girls, home* for poor and aged people, and every effort was being made to meet great and growing social needs.
The brigadier and his wife intend to get in touch with many old friend* while in Auckland, and after a visit tQ Christ' church will return to Australia to continue their work.
