INSURANCE AGENT SHOT.

GUN ALONGSJDE BODY. GHRISTCHURCH, Monday. An insurance agent, Mr. Ernest Smith, aged 51, was found dead this morning at his residence in Christchurch with a gun alongside the body. An inquest was opened this afternoon and was adjourned for medical evidence. Mrs. Ellen Jane Smith said her husband never seemed worried and had never spolcen of committing suicide. Be had complained of pains in the back and side and seemed nervy. He had had mental trouble, having been under observation in a mental hospital six years ago.
