The Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting, which had to be postponed on Saturday owing to the crowd being dissatisfied with the dispatch of the field in the Alitchelson Cup, was continued at 2 o'clock yesterday. There was a fair attendance, and the course was free to everybody for the day. The totalisator investments for the complete programme (five races on Saturday and three yesterday) were £53,770, a decrease of £16,051 10/ on the 1927 figures of £69,821 10/. The inquiry which was opened on Saturday concerning the running of Aussie in the Shorts Handicap was concluded. The stewards advised A. Tinker to ride his hcrse out in future when he had a • of winning^ 1 '." / • -Hot Favourite Wins. ■ * Golden Measure was the only withdrawal from the Welcome Stakes, and : Supremacy was sent out a strong odds'-on favourite. ' first Money was badly left, and w-hen the field had finally settled down Supremacy was leading Hunting "My and Clever: Supremacy was first l straight from Hunting Day, Eaglet and First Money, In run home Supremacy held his own, .ihd won by a couple of lengths from punting Day, with Eaglet four lengths ;.stoay, and Clever fourth. Gordon Handicap. ----Storm Fiend, Mountain Guide and Optimistic were scratched for the Gordon Handicap,, arid Arikitoa was made favourite, carrying £1155, with Modest -Boy, £1067, and Royal Lineage £851, next best backed. Bahama was left at •the post and took no part in the race. Winsome Boy was the early leader from Modest Boy, Tea Lady and Micrometer. Gbing along the back Micrometer had charge from Lunette, Royal Lineage, Tea Lady, War Officer and Modest Boy. Crosfjng the top the order was Royal Lineage, Arikitoa, Lunette, Modest Boy, '.Winsome Boy, Respirator, Tea Lady, Golden Wedding and War Officer. Royal Lineage was first into the straight from Arikitoa, Modest Boy, Winsome Boy, Lunette, Micrometer and Golden Wed- ' ding. In a good finish Royal Lineage and Golden Wedding dead-heated, with Arikitoa third. War Officer was fourth. Then came Modest Boy, Lunette, Micrometer, Luminary, Killute and Master . IflL Branson Beats Goshawk.. - The Fox was made favourite for the Flying Handicap, carrying £871, with Goshawk £860 and White Fang £811 the next best backed. Berizora and Master Doon were scratched. White Fang was the early leader from High Pitch, Tinokoa, Branson/and Flying Juliet. Across the top the order Was White Fang, Eaiti, The Fox, Branson, Vivo and Stormy. White Fang showed the way into the straight to Kaiti, Flying Juliet/Branson, High Pitch and The Fox. Branson won by a length and a-half from Goshawk, Which was three-quarters of a length in front of White Fang. Flying Juliet was fourth, then came Eaiti, Stormy, Macroom, Vivo and Thursby.
