OHINEMURI MINING.
PUBLIC. CRUSHING PLANT. PROVISION ON ESTIMATES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. The efforts of the Ohinemuri District Mining Committee to establish a public crushing plant promise to bear fruit at an early date. Advice has been received from Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., that certain provision has been made on the Estimates for the plant, and negotiations will commence when the necessary statutory authority is obtained. The agreement between the committee and the Rising Sun Company is that provided the Government make a grant of £3000 to the company and a loan of £3000 at the rate of £750 a year for four years, the company will bring its battery and reduction plant to Owharoa up to date as a public crushing plant. Prospectors and others bringing ore for treatment are to be charged £1 per ton. Special provision will be made for the treatment of small parcels.
