TACTICS OF N".Z. ALLIANCE
Among the Members of Parliament pledged to the New Zealand Alliance are a number who represent "ContW anee constituencies. This, in itself it sufficient indication of the undemocratic policy of the Alliance, in attempting to force .ts opinions over the heads of the people. As the Christchuch "Press" en id in i recent editorial, "there is no danger that prohibition will be carried by pointtar vote, but there is a risk that prohinibition fanaticism may seriously dislocate the mechanism of politics. and j the threats of the Alliance must W re | ented by all supporters of representative Government." The New Zealand Allirnee i 3 not concerned with the welfare of New Zealand; ft has only one avowed objcct——the overthrow of the Licensed Trade, and so long as it can persuade a Member of Parliament to support it, it does not care % rap about his riews on important questions with which the country has to deal. ,f« oolier ** a ° od •® w " l4 * n, ent win ® It* own choice, who, they hope. -UI be able to "pot prohibition or« 3 Zitboat the question beinjr submitted to the electors at all.
