MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Moanataiari.—The manager reports that the crosscut was advanced five feet during the week, making the total 25ft. The country la much firmer, and carries silica as well as mineral veins. A rise was started at the 1 unction of Ko-1 and No. - footwali droppers at the bottom level. The leader has been pieked np on the> other side of the break in the bade of tbe ritf, and the underlie appears nearly vertical. Should this continue the quarts should be 30 to 35ft in the hanglngwall of the crosscut in the top level. As the ore looks promising the rise will be put up to the top level, and if the ore proves payable it can be picked up from above. Xew Waiotahi.—The mine manager reports that the drive on the reef at the 100 ft mark has been advanced sft for-the week. The reef averages 18 Inches In width of rubbly quarts and pug, from which lib of fair picked stone was selected. The gold Is associated with sine blend and line grained black mineral. Tbe prospects of something better being met with are most promising. Alburnia.—The manager reports that the drive north on the hangingwall of the Orlando reef has been extended 7ft. a total of 274 ft from the centre of the main crosscut west. The reef averages about lOin and carries nice mineral and silica. A ssolid body has come in from the footwali or west side of drive, and should junction with hte reef in about another 6ft ahead. This may prove to be the Star of the South. No. 2 rise on hangingwall branch. Orlando reef. Is np"39ft. The reef averages 2ft -6in wide and is a solid body, carrying nice mineral ntimony and silica. The country rock on both walls Is still of a firm, splendid class for making gold. The rise on dropper of Sons of Freedom reef Is up 31ft. The reef averages 12in wide, hut is a little split up. There are still a few nice leders in footwali portion of the rise. ■
