LOST AT SEA.
NIAGARA PASSENGER DISAPPEARS. RESIDENT OF MELBOURNE. Two days before the steamer Niagara reached Honolulu on her way to Aockland, one of the passengers, Mr. S. 1 Mott, a resident of Essenden, Melboarae, disappeared. Mr. Mott was an eldtriy mait, and a .member of a Scottisk-Ap* tralian party returning to Australia. Mr. Mott was seen on the steamer about breakfast time on the moony that he disappeared, and several kin later he was reported missing. A thorough search of the ship failed to disclose any trace of the missing maa. Mr. Mott had disposed of his haemal before leaving Australia, and he U remarked to one of his fellow passesgers that he was worrying about financial matters. A niece of the missing man, Miss T. Mott, was travelling with him, and sh> is continuing the voyage to Sydney.
