GRAND OPERA.
FINAL PERFORMANCE TO-NIGHT.
The . Fuller-Gonsalez Grand Opera Company will conclude a four weeks' successful season at St. James' Theatre to-night with "Un Ballo in Masehera." The success of the season is not,attributed to novelty—it is many years' since grand opera was sung in Auckland previously—but for the genuine 1 merit of the performance. Theatregoers! have been charmed with the excellence jollthe singing and the productions generally.
"Uii Ballo in Masehera" has been the company's most successful opera, and in it the company does its very work. Signorina Rosita Silvestri, , ; .Signorina Margherita Flor, Signorina T Matilda Pfrimmer, Signor Vicleffq Scamuzzi, Signor Allesandro Rota,' ; : Antonio Signor .Ernesto Fuinagallij and Signor Alfieri will all be " heard in Verdi's delightful work. Signorina Pfrimmer will replace Signorina Algozzino in the role of Ulrica the Gipsy, as the latter has the trying role of Carmen in the matinee.
At the conclusion of the performance Sir Benjamin Fuller wi11... .make an announcement concerning the ! return season of the company, and the.plans for the future as far as grand opera is concerned will be announced. ; ■.
