BATTERY IN ORANGE.

A battery which will ljght the globe out of an electric torch can be made in tho following simple way. Procure an orange, and press into it a tliin rod of carbon and another of zinc, so that they do not touch anywhere. Fix a wiro from each of these rods, and the battery is completed. If you make several (bad oranges are equally good) and join them, the carbon terminal to the zinc, you will have a strong current of electricity. Throw the oranges away after the experiment.
