This time the short stories were well below par. Of course, there were a few quite good stories, Eden Coombes, Taumarunui, age 13, sending in quite an entertaining yarn. The tales sent in by the following young people were highly commended:—Sheila, Quinn, Tennyion Street, Dominion Road, age 15; Joyce E. Martin, 7, Glen Road, Remuera, age 13; Margaret Aitken, 252, Stout Street, Gisborne, age 15; Marjorie Bradley, .18, Marne Avenue, Edendale, age 12; and Bessie Spooner, 61, Pine Street, Mount Eden, age 16.
