Street Collection.—Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Association applied for permission to take up a street collection on one day during the ehopping week in Rotorua, for the purpose of raising funds to enable the : local association to send an application to have the New Zealand ladies' championship held at Rotorua' next year. The council _ decided to grant the necessary permission, provided the carnival committee raise no objection. "-.' ■ . Eotorua Shopping Week.—The secretary wrote asking the council for support in the matter of closing certain streets during the carnival week, for the purpose of carrying out a sports programme! Itywas agreed that streets be closed for traffic as desired.
