FACTORIES BURNED.
£12,000 DAMAGE DONE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A fierce fire in Elizabeth Street, Paddington, destroyed several shops and two factories while five men, including two firemen, were injured. Damage was estimated at over £12,000. There was a thrilling spectacle when an avalanche of bricks fell, some of which struck the firemen and spectators. The burned premises were insured in the National Insurance Company of New Zealand.
