Ortr 300 youngsters took part in tb« carnival which was directed bv "Mr - Rogers and the Y.M/C.A; Leadere' Corn. There was a good attendaliee ofrlhe public. ' ■ ' \.;«i Demonstrations of bar bell exotsta, control marching, "setting np" drifo inj club swinging were watched with i»Hi interest by the parents and Jriends of the gymnasts, while the thrills of the evening were provided in the chair-bal-ancing, flying rings, tumbling, and horizontal bar acts. Dislocates, grand cinies, death drops, and cut-and catches wfcre but a few of the better known of the variety of exercises performed. byVtfce gymnasts, many of whom showed abfiitv |of the highest order. Much of the wftk of advanced pupils was enthusiastically received by the spectators.. J. - ? A display of scientific boxing W Matt Hatton, the Auckland ; profession! featherweight champion, and p -'Prar cey, the Auckland amateur flyweight champion, was one of the Tirt pjinlii items on the programme,, which iftdaded several novelty turns, incl«iW a one-act. farce entitled "Fun jn-%£fer-Station."
