PERSONAL.
Mr. R. W. Wallace, of Napier, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. Frederick Hughes (London). Mr. A. W. Lewis (Melbourne), Mr. R. H. Black and Mr. A. K. Simpson (Wellington) are at the Albert Hotel. Bishop Cherrington and Mrs. Clierrington, who have been visiting Cliristchurch, returned to Hamilton by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing direcof the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd.. was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. P. Schneideman (Wellington), Mr. S. Carruthers (Dunedin), Mr. S. Tavlor (Sydney), Mr. W. McLeod (Napier) and Mr. J. A. Patterson (Hamilton) are at the Central Hotel. Mr. F. D. McGovern, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Timaru, has betti appointed assistant manager of the Auckland branch. He arrived from Timaru a few days ago, and has now taken up his duties. Mr. C. ,L. Pettit, chief clerk to Mr. E. Casey, Divisional Superintendent, North Island Railways, who has been promoted to the position of train control officer at Dunedin, leaves to, take up hig new duties this evening. This afternoon Mr. Pettit was presented with an attache case by his colleagues. The Ponsonby Bowling Club, of which Mr Pettit was a member, also made him a presentation of a case of pipes.
