ACCIDENT WHILE INTOXICATED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ■ *" * - WELLEN GTON, this dfly, A taxi driver who was involved in a smash on the railway at Lower Hutt on the occasion of the Hutt trots, swerving out and striking two cars and badly injuring a lady passenger, was yes* terday fined £25 and his license was cancelled till May, 1930. The defendant was Frank Tibis Laurie, garage proprietor, of Petone. ~
The magistrate said he regarded cases of intoxication while in.charge of inptors as more serious When they were committed by licensed taxi drivers. __
