CONSIDERATION FOR APPLICANTS.
May I voice an opinion of some people vk advertise situations vacant in newspapcn tat ask applicants to reply to box number* orb various names and initials? I have beea aat of employment for nearly three —j during that tune I have answered' n aa average of twelve advertisements - weekly enclosing copies of references, and up to tk present tune I have had two solitaiy infis from business gentlemen with finer acknowledging receipt of my applicatkni ai informing me that the positions had*—"ffM In one instance I was foolish enough to Mri my original credentials and had to write tine times asking for their return, and after tint weeks I received a letter informing m+ tut the position had been filled and that they eooU find no trace of my credentials in their dke. This necessitated my writing to jim'w employers asking them for copies of my nfsences and caused me to lose a lot of time. Surely it is not too big a to —*• these advertisers to give .pome acknowledgaat of the application and to at least eitead fit common courtesy of returning copies or originals. PENPUSHDL
