MAN'S VAIN SEARCH FOR DRJNK. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, Wednesday. Charles James Williams, a Pukemiro labourer, was committed to-day to the Supreme Court for sentence for having broken into the whare of Alexander Tav° lor, of Glen Afton, with intent to commit a crime. Taylor found the door of his whare had been cut open with an axe. Nothing was missing from the room, although there was money in clothes hanging up on the wall. ° Accused stated that for three days he had been drinking heavily. He cut open the door with an axe to see if any liquor was in the house, but found none.
