AMOUNIS AGAIN.
LIFTS CRAVEN PLATE. LIMERICK BEATEN INTO FOURTH PLACE. CHAMPION RUNS WITH SPLIT HEEL. SYDNEY, October 3. The Australian Jockey Club's spring meeting was continued at Randwick today. The weather was fine, and the attendance numbered 29,000. light rains overnight put the track in excellent order. The surprise feature of the day's racing was the indifferent running of Limerick in the Craven Plate. The New Zealand champion led the field into the straight, but when tackled failed to produce his customary smart finish, and straggled home in fourth place. Limerick i was later discovered to be suffering from an acute split heel, and as a result he was withdrawn from the , Randwick Plate to be run on Saturday. The trainer, F. D. Jones, stated that Limerick will probably return to New Zealand at an early date. Amounis (Saturday's Epsom victor) won the Craven Plate in brilliant style with the English-bred horse Fourth Hand in second place,' and the A.J.C. Derby winner, Prince Humphrey, third. iiiffiiiiniiiHiiuiimiiiiiiiiiiiitiiHiiiiiuiiniiiiiiiiininiiinuiiiHOwa
