PONSONBY'S RECORD. GREAT CLUB ACHIEVEMENT. Though Ponsonby Seniors did not quite win the senior championship this season, they went very close to it, finishing up in second place. The juniors were well in the running until the sectional final was played, when they were defeated. Tho third open played 18 games, and were only once beaten, whilst the intermediate and fourth grades each hold an unbroken record for the season, having : played respectively 14 and 18 games. The sixth grade also did their share towards a successful season, winning 13 out of 14 games. This is surely a record that the club may be proud of, and one that there is no reason why others cannot emulate. The deserved success has been brought about by training, and good coaching, and those responsible arc to be congratulated on the success of their efforts. "pie fourth grade put up rather a unique performance, scoring over 440 points for the season. Carter was the most prolific scorer, putting no less than 57 tries to his credit, a truly wonderful performance for a fourth grade player. Tlio team has been out to beat a pro-* vious record, and has done so handsomely. •
