RETURN OF ALL BLACKS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. When the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met this evening it was stated if the New Zealand team reaches Wellington on Tuesday a civic welcome will be tendered, and the New Zealand Union will entertain the players at luncheon the same day.

A MORML DISASTER. Churchman Deplore Contempt for- Law. The Right Rev. Frederic Llewelyn Dean, Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney, has this to say aboat prohibition in the United States:—

"It lias produced contempt for the law without parallel in modern history. It has produced hypocrisy in political, religious and social life which is very repellent to those accustomed to acting and; speaking fearlessly as their conscience and their reason dictate. It has caused and is causing young people of both sexes to drink out of sheer bravado, who otherwise would not have drunk; indeed, ever schoolboys at school dances sometimes disgrace themselves by getting drunk; while in the col- \ leges, which are educating almost a ? million of young citizens, the mischief -is sadly rife. It has created a vast >/- band of criminals, daring, impudent aud | -resourceful, who are a disgrace to any » civilisation.""
