AMERICAN RUNNERS' TOUR. * ' TWO MEETINGS IX CANTERBURY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCH, this day. The Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association discussed the question of the tour by American athletes, and decided to take two meetings, with a guarantee of not more than £9j. The head centre had suggested three meetings in Canterbury, with a guarantee of £ 185. Mr. J. K. Moloney said the athletes nominated were not well known.

At the annual meeting of the Mauncatawhiri Athletic Club, which was largely attended, the following offlcers were elected" - Patron, Mr. G. Lyons: president, Mr. S. J. Mcllroy; vice-presidents. Messrs. J. Keith and C. J. Leathern ; secretary and treasurer. Mr. H. Appleby; assistant-secretary, Mr. H I. Buckingham; committee, Messrs. Mcllrov. Appleby, 6. Lander, W. Arbuckle, Buckingham, S. P, Pendergrast, C. Darby. K. Murray, R. G. Pendergrast, J. Parka- and G. Twining; local handlcappers. Messrs. Mcllroy and Darby: starter. Mr. 8. Hirst; judges, Messrs. G. Lyons, C. Leathern and Parker; course steward, Mr. F. Kelsall; referee, Mr. K. Murray; auditor, Mr. ItLyons. It was resolved that the sports be held on Saturday, January 12, In Mn. Buckingham's grounds. An attractive programme of events was arranged.
