WHANGAREI NEWS.
BRIDGE OVER WAIAROHIA. DIFFICULTIES OVERCOME. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this day. The borough council last evening decided to acccpt the gas company's offer of a piece of land alongside the Waiarohia stream, in return for the right to lay a tramline on First Avenue extension. This will allow the council to erect a bridge over the stream to link First Avenue and Cafler's Avenue, and give two further means of access to Central Park. It will also increase the beauty of the park. The council has been endeavouring for five years to secure this link. °
