SURAT RIOT.
SEVEN DEAD AND MANY HURT.
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 12 noon.) DELHI, October 1. The Surat riot between Hindus and Mohammedans has produced casualties, which total seven dead and 200 injured. There were 50 arrests, the town was panic-stricken and business paralysed. Armed police are patrolling.
