The Australian Jockey Club's spring meeting was continued at r...-dwick > to-day, In fine weather, when there was an attendance of 65,000. The race track was in splendid order, and owing to lfle&l weather conditions fast times were the order of the day. Greenllne Won the Shorts Handicap in smart time (1.10J). The New Zealand gelding Gold Tinge outclassed the youngsters in the Breeders' Plate, acting as pacemaker throughout, and he was going away from the field at the winning post. In the decision of the Metropolitan Stakes the New Zealand mare Oratrix was running in fifth place at the head of the straight. She finished brilliantly and was Overhauling Jocelyn at tbe winning post. In tbe Grantham Stakes Roscrea appeared to be a likely winner at the top of the straight, but failed in the final strides to withstand the challenge of Solitas. Boonala fell in contesting the Squatters' Handicap, and his injuries were so serious that he had to be destroyed. Detailed results:— SHORTS HANDICAP, of lOsovs each, with lOOOsovs added.
