Lady Carroll and Lady Ngata have been added to the official members of Maori Councils in the Northern districts.
Passengers by the Tofua from a holiday tour through the Islands, were Mr. and Mrs. P. Wing, of the Union. Steam Ship Company.
Miss L. Allen, daughter of Sir James and Lady Allen, returned to Wellington by the lonic from England. She was accompanied by Miss K. Hursthouse.
Commander and Mrs. Adeane Tollemache have returned to Takapau. Hawke'a Bay, after a long sojorurn in Auckland.
Mrs. J. C. Dickinson, Mrs. Bradstreet and Miss Dempsey left by the express last evening to attend a conference of the Y.W.C.A. at Wellington. Miss Begg will leave to-night.
Mrs. W.' R. Wilson, Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides in New Zealand, left Auckland last evening for the South Island, where she will inspect the Girl Guides in Canterbury, Westland, Otago and Southland.
