MINISTER TO BE ADVISED.
COMMITTEE PROPOSED.
(By Telegraph.—Preu Association.)
WELLINGTON, this day.
The Minister of Public Works has sent a circular letter to all local bodies on the subject of the supplementary motor regulations, which came'into force yesterday. The Minister desires to set up an advisory committee, representative of the different interested organisations, for the purpose of considering and declaring the efficiency of different appliances and devices, such as rear reflectors, mechanical direction signals, etc., for use on motor vehicles.
The proposed constitution of the committee follows: One representative each of the New Zealand Master Carriers' Federation, Motor , Traders' Association, New Zealand Motor Union, Police Department, and local authorities, and about three representatives from the Public Works Department. As it is held desirable that committee members should reside in Wellington, the Minister has decided to ask the Wellington City Council to nominate one of its officers to represent the local authorities.
